You can bet the Mentor accountants will be pulling all-nighters this weekend in preparation for their quarterly earnings announcement on Wednesday. The results will affect Cadence’s hostile bid to acquire Mentor at $16 a share.

    This bid is an admission by Cadence that they have failed to compete with Mentor on technical merits of their products. Acquisition is the only option left for Cadence to stay in the game.

    With the asquisition, the technical advancements in the future versions of the end tool would be one good thing to watch out for. May this be the begining of the quest for a superior tool for PCB designers. 🙂

    Cadence acquisition If happens , Its going to be “Pain in the ______ ” to convert the entire designs to Cadence Platform from Mentor for
    Mentor Customers eventhough if Cadence offer
    convertion tool.
